June 9th, 2014 | Det var National Dag vecka!

Well this week was good.
I think my favorite part of the week was on Saturday when we went to play soccer with Daniel.
all four of us went and met up with him at around 12 at Bäckby Centrum this is the exact place on goolge maps if you want to look it up:

Tackjärnsgatan 122 Västerås Sweden

We played at the soccer field closest to this house. It was super fun.
We played for about an hour and then we decided to leave, but as we were leaving I checked our phone and saw that an investigator named Bukuru had called and was wating in Bäckby centrum to play (we invited him earlier that week) so we walked back to centrum and met up with him, and he brought 4 people with him, two were his brothers, all of them were african. So we went back to the field and played for a while longer... so picture this, Four American missionaries playing soccer with 6 Africans, if you don't already know most Africans are pretty good at soccer, and compared to us they were amazing.
I think that my favorite part of it though was that as we were playing it started pouring rain, so we got soaked to the bone. I don't know why but it was still AWESOME! and afterwards Daniel invited all 9 of us to his little apartment for sandwiches and hot chocolate.
 love Africans.

The rest of the week was good, and on Friday it was Swedish National day, we went to a gathering of sorts in a park where they were passing out Swedish flags and they sang the National Anthem. I had no idea a park could be that quiet with that many people in it. Swedes are always quiet.
It was an interesting experience.

There were transfers this week, I will be staying with Elder Brown as my companion which I am super happy about because we get along great. Elder Hansen who is in our fourman is transfereing to Utby and Elder Krebs who is still here in Västerås will be getting a new companion, it's interesting because we live in the same apartment so it will be kind of like getting a new member of the family.

anyway, I am loving it here, I miss you all a ton, but I am glad to be where I am. I love hearing about what you are all doing!
Love you tons!

June 2nd, 2014

Hey!
Well I have officialy been on my mission for more than a year now... I feel very used to missionary life and sometimes I wonder how it will be to go home when the time comes. I think that it will probably be very strange. I love being on a mission.
Thats not to say in anyway that I won't be happy to go home when the time comes... I will be ecstatic, but I know that there is a reason that boys are meant to go on a mission for two years. It is the perfect amount of time to be out.

I got to be on a conference call this week with all the people from my MTC group. It was nice to hear everyones voices again and it was strange to think that it was over a year ago that we were all in the MTC together just beginning to learn how to speak Swedish.

I can't believe Ben's home! It was great to get that clip and great to see Aunt Annette and Uncle Jeff. You guys are super awesome!
I can't belive that Silas is getting near that point as well! Time is such a strange thing.

The work here is going great! I love this area, I love the branch, and my companion is the coolest guy ever. I have no complaints whatsoever. I have had the opportunity this past week to read in the book of job, and I would encourage all of you to do the same sometime. it is really amazing how much faith Job had and not only faith but tenacity as well. I thought it was interesting and rather eye opening as well to realize that in the end Job was better of than he was in the beginning, not because of temporal things but because of the choices he made to follow God even when it was difficult.

anyway I love you all and I am glad to be associated with each and every one of you,
Love,

May 26th, 2014 | Approaching ONE YEAR

Hey,

Well I can't believe that it's been a year! That is so crazy.
This week was great as usual, we taught 19 lessons, so almost standards of excelence.
This week in church I gave a talk, it was on Ta hand om vår broder och systrar (taking care of our brothers and sisters) it went well and I even got a few compliments afterwards on my Swedish. Then in Sunday school I translated for Daniel, it was about Sampson. Daniel gave the lesson for Preisthood, so I got to translate from English into Swedish, it was acctually really fun.
This last friday we had a Zone traning conference in Stockholm, it was fun to see some people from my MTC group.
Anyways that's about it! Love you all and have a great next week...
(some pictures will follow)

Every month on the 29th (that's the day I went into the MTC) I draw this picture in my planner of coming closer to the city there is normaly a sign on the side of the road that says "now passing 5 months" or somthing... this is this months picture.

Yesterday on the way back home from church we stopped to help a guy with his bike.

this is a picture of the contryside... we went to Sala on wednesday morning to give a blessing and this was taken on the bus ride back.
